How Does CPAP Therapy Work? |
The most common treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea is Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP, pronounced "see-PAP"). Other less common treatments include surgery and oral appliances, which may be effective in certain individuals. CPAP treats OSA by providing a gentle flow of positive-pressure air through a mask to splint the airway open during sleep. Breathing becomes regular, snoring stops and restful sleep is restored. Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a serious, potentially life-altering health issue that may lead to life threatening conditions, but it is easily identifed and effectively treated. Benefits of sleep disorder treatment: Restful sleep Less daytime drowsiness Increased energy Improved memory Improved quality of life/ work performance Improved blood pressure control/ oxygenation during sleep Others as reviewed by your physician |
